Hayfield Primary School

Loving Learning, Loving Life.

Welcome

A warm welcome to Hayfield Primary School. We hope you enjoy exploring our website and you gain a clear understanding of life at our fantastic school.

Hayfield is a scenic village lying at the foot of Kinder Scout in the Derbyshire Peak District. Our school caters for children, aged 4-11, who live in the village and surrounding areas. We are an integral part of the community in this vibrant village.  Our children enjoy taking part in many community events such as Apple Day, Well Dressing and the May Queen Festival.

We are all very proud to work here, adults and children alike. The school is a happy and safe place for children to learn and grow and is set in a stunning location. The team at Hayfield Primary work extremely hard to help every child achieve their full potential during their time with us.  The staff pride themselves in knowing each and every child. This results in them supporting, encouraging, nurturing, reassuring and challenging each child every step of the way.

The school firmly believes that children are our richest resource and we seek to foster a love of lifelong learning. Our fundamental aim is to help prepare your children to value and embrace their future and to be resilient and independent learners in this rapidly changing world.

Learning outdoors is important within our school philosophy. Children will make fires, cook marshmallows, climb trees, slide down slopes and go for long educational walks.  So with all this in mind, we will always take risk seriously but children will be encouraged to develop their own awareness of this with our professional support and guidance.

Many visitors comment upon the warm and friendly atmosphere as soon as they step through the door of school as well as how happy, polite and well behaved our children are.  We feel it important to build positive, honest and open relationships with all our parents and carers and we firmly believe that the education of your child is very much a shared responsibility.

Finally, we operate an open door policy which means that you are always welcome to come and talk to us if you have any questions or issues that you would like to raise.

I look forward to meeting you soon
