We are a pioneer school for the Derbyshire Ready Enterprise Education Programme

 Our vision for Enterprise Education:

To provide an enterprising and creative curriculum, which inspires our young people and prepares them for learning and life.

We teach the ‘Big 13’ (‘Foundation 6’ in the infants) enterprise skills across the whole curriculum and through real enterprise projects and events.  Our aim is to provide our children with opportunities to practice and consolidate these skills and engage in real, purposeful learning, and make connections between school work and the real world.

We have a team of Enterprise Ambassadors, one child from each class in Year 2 to Year 6, who work together to champion enterprise across the school and plan and organize events and projects.

What the children said about Enterprise Education last year:

“It makes lessons meaningful; the skills we learn now will help us have a better future.” Sam Moss, Year 6

“We work well in teams, using each other’s skills for the best outcome. For example, I often take the lead because I can organise people so that we can complete our tasks. But I know I need to be better at taking risks because I don’t like to get things wrong.”

James Ashenden, Year 6

“Through enterprise, we raise a lot of money for charity and do lots of fun things.” Holly Howard, Year 6

“We can come up with our own ideas. It makes you think about the best way to do things.” Olivia Dunn, Year 5

“It’s fun!” Jacob Bennett, Year 5
